Ask The Head

As parents, we at Teen Tips know there are times when we would love to ask our child’s headteacher a question but are not sure whether it is appropriate to do so.  Headteachers are busy and although most have an open door policy it just doesn’t always feel right.

We are delighted that Peter Hopkinson, who has just completed 17 years as a head and over 30 years in education, has agreed to collaborate on a podcast called “Ask The Head”

Peter is now a Freelance Educational Consultant and with all his experience he offers great insight into the questions parents often ask. Depending on the question, Peter may be able to answer your query outright but if not, he’ll certainly advise on how you might want to couch it with your school.

  • Perhaps you’re concerned that your child feels picked on by a teacher.
  • Maybe you feel that school productions should be more inclusive of less confident children but don’t know if it is appropriate to air your views.
  • Are you wondering whether you should tutor your child to get into a particular school?
  • Maybe you’d like some advice on how to support your child as they go through school?

Please email your questions and we will put them to Peter – all participants will be anonymous and to help others with similar concerns, we may post questions and answers on social media.

So now it’s over to you – simply email us your question or engage with our #AskTheHead campaign on twitter and facebook.
